This year, under the leadership of our new CEO, Marie Beggin, Penn East Federal Credit Union proudly introduced a refreshed mission statement: “Have a positive impact on our members, our community, and each other.” This guiding principle drives everything we do, ensuring we remain committed to supporting our members, uplifting our community, and fostering a strong, collaborative team environment.
Giving Back to Our Community
We believe in the power of community. Our success is tied to the well-being of the neighborhoods we serve, and we are dedicated to giving back in meaningful ways.
Thanks to the generosity of our members, we held three successful donation drives benefiting local nonprofits. The Mother’s Day Diaper Drive, Back-to-School Drive, and Holiday Food Drive allowed us to donate over 16,677 individual items to support those in need. Together, we made a tangible difference for families across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Financial Literacy Efforts
Promoting financial literacy is central to our mission of creating a positive impact. This year, we hosted 10 free events and seminars to empower our community with knowledge and resources.
Seminars like “What is a Credit Score”, “First-Time Home Buyers”, and “Financial Foundations for Moms” equipped attendees with the tools to make informed financial decisions, pursue their life goals, and build strong financial foundations.
Community Events
In 2024, we brought back some beloved traditions and introduced new ones. From the Super Fun Member Appreciation Day to the Extra Spooky Trunk or Treat, we had the pleasure of connecting with so many members of our community. These events reflect the heart of Penn East: bringing people together in celebration and support.
Employee Contributions
Our incredible employees are the backbone of everything we accomplish. This year, their dedication extended beyond their daily roles. Penn East employees collectively contributed 550 hours of volunteer time and made generous monetary donations to help achieve our goals.
Their commitment to making a difference underscores the spirit of our mission.
Overall Impact
With the support of our amazing members, employees, and community, we partnered with 72 local nonprofits and community organizations across the four counties we serve. Together, we worked to support the causes that matter most to our community.
