In 2025, Penn East Federal Credit Union continued to move forward, under the leadership of CEO Marie Beggin, towards our mission: Have a positive impact on our members, our community, and each other. Our purposeful mission remains the foundation of every decision we make and every initiative we pursue as we focus on meaningful service, community connection, and a strong internal culture.
Giving Back to Our Community

Our commitment to the four communities we serve remained strong throughout 2025. We believe that when our community thrives, we all do.
With the continued generosity of our members, Penn East hosted 14 community events and donation drives in support of local nonprofits. Through initiatives such as the Mother’s Day Diaper Drive, Pet Supply Drive, and Holiday Food Drive, we collected and donated 26,612 individual items to organizations serving families across Northeastern Pennsylvania. These efforts resulted in real, tangible support for our neighbors in need.
Financial Literacy Efforts
Financial education remains a core part of how we create positive impact. In 2025, Penn East continued to offer free financial literacy events and educational sessions to the public.
These programs covered topics such as credit scores, first time home buying, and everyday financial foundations helped attendees build confidence, gain practical knowledge, and take steps toward long term financial well being. These sessions remain an important avenue for us as we support informed decision-making at every life stage.
Community Events
Community connection is at the heart of Penn East. In 2025, we maintained our rapport with our community by hosting events that brought people together in meaningful ways. From Member Appreciation events to seasonal favorites like Trunk or Treat, Penn East connected with thousands of members and community participants throughout the year. These moments reflect who we are and reinforce the relationships that make our credit union strong.
Employee Contributions
Our employees continue to be the driving force behind our impact. In 2025, Penn East staff dedicated 572 volunteer hours in support of community causes associated with charity golf tournaments, St. Joseph’s Festival, and the American Cancer Society.
Their willingness to give time and energy beyond their daily responsibilities demonstrates a shared commitment to service and to living out our mission every day.
Overall Impact
Throughout 2025, Penn East impacted 82 local nonprofit and community organizations across the counties we serve. These partnerships allowed us to extend our reach and support initiatives that align with the needs of our community.
A Unified Effort
Our mission to have a positive impact on our members, our community, and each other is reflected through action, collaboration, and shared purpose. With the continued support of our members, employees, and community partners, Penn East is proud of the progress made in 2025 and remains focused on building an even stronger future together.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue building on this momentum. We invite you to join us in making an even greater impact by volunteering, participating in events, or simply sharing your ideas with us. Together, we can achieve amazing things!
