“At Penn East, we believe in helping others through financial education, regardless of their life circumstances,” said David Saxton, VP of Marketing at PEFCU. “By bringing this program to Wayne County Correctional Facility, we hope to provide individuals with the knowledge they need to take control of their financial future and build a more stable path forward.”
The program underscores Penn East’s dedication to community engagement and financial empowerment.
“Teaching a life skill, such as Basic Banking in prison is crucial because it helps the offenders who are ready to grow and change for the better, get a head start on how to maintain their money when they are employed,” said Jennifer Geyer, Director of Inmate Services at Wayne County Correctional Facility.
This effort highlights the impact of collaboration within the credit union movement and reinforces how credit unions across this country are driving positive change within each community.
